I was born in Nairobi in 1989 and have had a passion for art since I learned to draw patterns in first grade.
Throughout primary school, I cut my teeth drawing Scooby Doo, Fred Flintstone and other classic Hannah Barbara cartoons that inspired and entertained me in equal measure.
Early on in life, I realized that I had a talent for drawing and art, and it was something that drew people to me and made me more interesting.
my family and I were lucky enough to get a chance to live abroad in South Africa and i joined high school there.
This is when I embraced art as a subject and I took design in my first year of high school. This taught me the basics of shape, form, perspective, color and various other basics of composition in general.
I also learned the basics of using paint as a medium in the artistic process. My interest in art budded in college in South Africa as I learned more about art movements and how they intertwine with social and political revolution and the role that art can have in marshalling people around an idea.
