バックギャモンは「西洋双六」、「盤双六」等といわれるボードゲームです。ボードゲームの中では世界で最も遊戯人口が多く、その数は約３億人といわれています（日本バックギャモン協会）。日本での認知度は今一つですが、世界ランキング１位と２位を実は日本人が占めています（2021年現在）。トップの方はテレビ朝日系「激レアさんを連れてきた」で半生を紹介された事もあるのでご存知の方も多いと思います。

２名で行う対局型ゲームですが、将棋・囲碁と異なり、対戦時間も15分程度と短く、２個のサイコロの出目によって戦況が左右されるため勝つためには運も必要です。必ずしも「強い者が勝つ」ゲームではない面白さがあります。一見難しそうですが、ルールは比較的簡単に覚えられます。初めての方には、写真の二人（ともう一人）が喜んで遊び方を丁寧に伝授いたします。

Backgammon is a board game also known as "Western Sugoroku" or "Ban Sugoroku". Among board games, it has the largest number of players in the world, said to be about 300 million (Japan Backgammon Association). Although the recognition of the game in Japan is still low, Japanese people actually occupy the first and second place in the world ranking (as of 2021). The top ranked player has had his life story introduced on Japanese TV show so I'm sure many of you know him.

Backgammon is a game played by two players. But unlike Shogi and Igo, the game time is short, only about 15 minutes. And the game situation depends on the outcome of the two dice, so luck is necessary to win. It is not necessarily a game where the strongest player wins, but it is interesting. At first glance, the game looks difficult, but the rules are relatively easy to learn. If you are new to the game, the two people in the photo (and one other person) will be happy to teach you how to play.
