Dear indigenous brothers and sisters,
We hereby sincerely invite you to our online gathering.
In the Slow Food Indigenous Peoples Network, there are many people who are creating opportunities through food for young people to rediscover the preciousness, significance and pride of the culture of their community and to pass it onto the next generation.
The purpose of this online workshop is not only to learn more about the initiatives taking place in each region, but also to make closer connections by taking a virtual tour of the region and getting to know the people taking actions there.
You might find…
Tips on how to solve problems in your own community
Ideas and tips to share from your own experienceIdeas on initiatives you can work on together
and many more.
Above all, the biggest purpose of this project is to get to know our friends around the world, their efforts and the difficulties they face, and to build face-to-face relationships so that we can expand our network of mutual support and encouragement.
Indigenous people have been deprived of their right to self-determination, freedom of land and education, and sovereignty over their culture.
As more and more young people leave for the cities in search of various opportunities, they are losing the chance to pass on the important knowledge and wisdom they have inherited from their ancestors to the next generation, and their culture and community itself are facing a crisis of survival.
In appreciation for your understanding of the situation of indigenous peoples and your involvement in this project out of respect for the activities of the various regions and the people there, we would love to invite you to join us.
Thank you so much.
