棚橋 俊夫 - Toshio Tanahashi

Toshio Tanahashi is a Shojin, Buddhist Cuisine, Chef and Evangelist. In February, 2008, he established Zecoow Culinary Institute. He believes 21st century is the era of vegetables. He has been active worldwide advocating abundant life through Shojin while spreading the wonder of vegetables.

He appeared on TEDx in 2014. He also made a keynote speech at World Economic Forum, Davos Conference Tokyo for young leaders, in 2016.

武田 宗典 - Munenori Takeda

Munenori Takeda is Noh-Gakushi, a master of Noh actor Kanze-ryu shite-kata, a protagonist Kanze Style of Noh-gaku (Noh & Kyogen). He was born as an eldest son of Munekazu Takeda, Kanze-ryu Shite-kata. He studied under his father and Kiyokazu Kanze, 26th Head of the Kanze Style of Noh. He passionately holds educational activities of Noh and in January, 2008, he started supervising Utai salon, an introductory course of Noh for commoners. He performs worldwide and succeeded a joint performance with Opera, TOMOE + YOSHINAKA, in Seattle in September, 2014. He had a self-produced recital at Kanze Noh Theatre in GINZA SIX in June, 2017.

大藏 基誠 - Motonari Okura

Motonari Ohkura is a kyogen performer of Okura-ryu, Okura Style of Noh-gaku. He was born as the second eldest son of 25th Yataro Ohkura. He studied under his father and 24th Yaemon of Ohkura-ryu. He performs educational kyogen for elementary school students as well as junior and high schools students to share the excitement of Japanese traditional arts. He performs many times worldwide in Europe and Asia such as Swiss, Singapore and China. Since 2011, he has been coordinating “kyogen lounge” where he tries the fusion of kyogen and party. He tries to make kyogen familiar to commoners without changing its authenticity.

泉水 宗祐 - Soyu Sensui

Soyu Sensui is a master of tea ceremony and is also a full professor of Urasenke, a type of tea ceremony. She encountered with her wonderful mentor at zen temple and learned not only tea ceremony but also many other precious things. She finished the professional course of Urasenke and entered Kon-nichian.  She served for 15th and 16th iemoto, top master, founded by the late Senno-rikyu in the 16th century. After leaving there, she has been teaching the wonder of tea ceremony as well as the essence of “Shitsurae” and “Mitate" etc. which is a Japanese spirituality worldwide in Ichigo-Ichie, treasuring each encounter. She is a lecturer at Kokushikan University 21 century Asian study department.  She supervises culture schools regularly as well as tea ceremony classes.

真柄 弥沙 - Misa Magara

Misa Magara is a Bonsai artist. She studied under Mr. Tatsuo Urabe who is an executive board member of small bonsai association. She established “BONSAI盆凡。” trying to reach out to familiarize Bonsai with people because Bonsai’s image is too difficult or too time-consuming. Her activities range from sales to experience course workshops and space design producing. She joins in many collaboration events with Japanese cultures such as kyogen, kimono and tea ceremony.

前田 直紀
- Naoki Maeda

Naoki Maeda is a ceramist and a ceramic communicator. He was born in Fujieda City, Shizuoka prefecture. He graduated from Osaka Industrial University, Department of  Environment Design, majoring in Field Ceramics under Professor Satoru Hoshino.  He studied under Ceramic Master Nobuo Nojima in Uji City, Kyoto prefecture as an assistant. In 2002, he started his own ceramic studio in Fujieda City. He has organized exhibitions worldwide in France, Monaco, Taiwan, South Korea, Italy, Czech Republic, Finland and Japan. He is now a managing director at Fujieda City ceramic art center, a director at the association of Craftsmen Shizuoka prefecture and a steering committee member of an International Ceramic Art Festival. In 2017, at the Memorial Ceremony for presenting Japanese tea to the Emperor of Japan, he had the honor of producing memorial gifts for the guests and offering ceramic design works at the hall.

鶴本 晶子
- Shoko Tsurumoto

Shoko Tsurumoto is a COO and Brand Manager of NAGAE+, pronounced as “Nagae Ploos”. After graduating from Women’s Art junior college, she has been active as a modern art collaborator based in Tokyo and New York. From 2007 to 2014, she was in charge of “SUSgallery brand” and total-produced “SUSgallery Vacuum Titan Cup” which is an unprecedented Titan high-end tableware in the world. Thus, she launched upscale lifestyle brand in Japan. She also created NAGAE+, with the help of her parent company NAGAE Ltd. and started creating platform brand made in Japan since 2015.

Hana4
- Hanayo

Hana4 is a nail artist. Majoring in Art at college, she became a freelance nail artist to express her own nail art essence since 2013. Also, she is very active in Japan and worldwide as a nail instructor. She advocates her nail theme  “Nail meets Art” to enroll Nail Art in Japan doing sessions with genre free artists and collaborations with Japanese traditional craftsmen masters. In 2016, she was featured on TV program, “Jonetsu Tairiku, Passion Continent”.

- Ariakezukuyo

It is a creative unit produced by an actor, Mizuki Serizawa and a musician, Hisatake Kumagai to aim entertainment creation not only in their own specialty but also in broader perspective. They are active in various genre from offering and producing songs for artists to CM and Video clip music production. Also as an artist, they produce music with special lyrics using only Classical Japanese. They try to expand their carrier by collaborating with artists of other genre.

Event : "EXTRAD" in NISEKO

August 13th(Sun)

We are happy to present the first EXTRAD to connect the authentic Japanese tradition with the world and to the next generation in a sustainable and international city, NISEKO.

On Sunday, August 13th from 10:00 to18:00, we will give you various workshops where you can directly feel and experience Noh, Kyogen, Tea ceremony and Bonsai art. We aim to have real experience programs where you can directly witness masters’ demonstration and have dialogues with them. By communicating with masters active at the forefront, we are convinced that you can feel much closer to the tradition.

On Sunday, August 13th at 18:30, we are happy to announce  “Premium SHOJIN Dinner”  by Toshio Tanahashi where you can fully enjoy Shojin Cuisine full course menu starting with Hokkaido’s fresh vegetables and fruits to dishes with Chef’s special choice genuinely delicious ingredients.  Once again, we will proudly present EXTRAD to spread the Japanese authentic tradition to the world and to succeed it to the next generation at a sustainable and international city, NISEKO in Hokkaido.

We develop EXTRAD original products harmonizing traditional technology and handcrafts such as natural indigo dye in Tokushima prefecture, black dye in Kyoto and Aritayaki ware in Saga prefecture with modern lifestyle and high quality products. We also try create opportunities for you to touch the core of tradition through planning each curator’s individual workshops. We may need subsidy and support, but we will try our best to make new sustainable economic model through crowdfunding.
