About Laputa

Laputa is a bamboo house you can rent out through Airbnb. It’s located in the heart of up and coming region in southeast Bali – Sidemen. Laputa is perched on the edge of a hill overlooking a valley filled with lush rice fields and Mount Agung in the backdrop. In fact, Laputa boasts a 360-degree view – you can see Bukit Penisula, Nusa Island, and Mount Agung all from the porch. For that reason, Laputa is one of the most unique bamboo homes in Bali.

The SkyNet - Laputa 

if you imagine sleeping under the sky with a view of the Holy Mountain, you should try the Skynet.  The rising sun comes up from the Holy Mountain, so try to wake up at 6am. We promise that it will be a highlight of your stay in Bali.

Bamboo Architecture - Laputa

The house has a unique design with an open space, large living area, two separate double bedrooms and a bathroom. Guests can lounge on the balcony made of comfortable nets and marvel and the epic view. At night, you will be lulled by the sound of nature, and you will be able to see the twinkling lights of Sidemen Village down in the valley.

We offer western style breakfasat that is included in the price.  Upon your arrival, sorry, we do not offer you welcome drink but a fresh young coconut from neigouring coconut trees.  Our villa is not close to reastraurants, but we have a menu in the house where you can order nice local foods to be delivered.

About ZenGateway Villa

ZenGateway Villa is a beautiful reconstructed teak-wood three homes from Sumbawa Island—a neighboring island to Bali. The homes are rustic and open to the elements. A true embodiment of the wabi-sabi aestetic—finding perfection in the imperfect.  If you look for a concrete hotel that shuts downs Bali's breeze, then we wouldn't be for you.

The Open Style - ZenGateway

ZenGateway is an open villa (you can shut down by bamboo curtain though). The home are rustic and open to the elements. A true embodiment of the wabi-sabi aestetic—finding perfection in the imperfect.  If you were looking for urban comfort in concrete walls, please look for something else.

Rebuilt Concept - ZenGateway

From the beginning, we had no intention to build a concrete villa but wante to build something that is sustainable but recycable.  We happned to know about the unique architecture of Sumbawa local houses, and decided to reuse three abandoned houses disassembled in Sumbawa, and resconstructd in Bali.  Looks old fashioned?  Well, that's exactly what we aimed for.

This swing is exclusivey for ZenGateway's guests.  Nowadays swing is getting so much populaliry in Bali that there are so many swing places opened mainly in Ubud, but for USD20-30 for a ride...  Take dreamy photos as many as you can, with your exclusive swing.

ABOUT US

We are a villa builder/operator based in Bali. 

Our mission is simple; "To create and operate very unique villas that fuse with nature (our own properties) in Bali."  As of 2021, we run 4 unique villas in East Bali, most probably one of the most unique properties on this planet.  We will never build a villa that can be found in you town, but can be seen only on the Island of Gods.

Besides, we never do bogus "agency" kind of business, but we will simply continue to follow our motto - "to build and operate uniquest villas on this planet."  Sara & Cherry is now developping 3 more super unique villas in Sidemen, East part of Bali.
