Toastmasters International is a world leader in communication and leadership development. Our organization has more than 352,000 memberships. Members improve their speaking and leadership skills by attending one of the 16,400 clubs in 141 countries that make up our global network of meeting locations.
Minami Aoyama Toastmasters Club was established as an English club in Minami Aoyama in 1991. For a long time we were active as a club name "Sakura Toastmasters Club", but in 2018, we renamed the club name "Minami Aoyama Toastmasters Club" familiar with local Minami Aoyama.
The characteristics of this club have a long history compared with surrounding clubs, and those who are active for more than 20 years now since 1995 are enrolled. In addition, we actively participate in annual speech contests etc and advanced to the best 8 at the national convention speech. Many members realize their skill up by themselves, thanks to Toastmasters Club's policy of more faithful meetings and veteran's strong backup.
It is a characteristic of this club that people of various professions (teachers, bank staff, engineers etc.) gather. Especially in recent years, many people participate from IT related companies. There are many opportunities to listen to more varied speech because the members are from different industries. It is also a good place for members to stimulate each other and learn together.

英語クラブです。例会はすべて英語で行われます。
どのように例会は進行しますか。
トーストマスターズクラブでは、決まった例会進行表がありそれに基づいて例会が進行します。主な流れは以下の通りです。1.Table Topics – その場で出されるテーマについて、2分間のスピーチを行う即興スピーチです。
2.Prepared Speech – Toastmasters Internationalの教育プログラムに沿って、5～7分間で事前に準備したスピーチを行います。
3.Evaluation – スピーチの内容について、3分間で論評を行います。
例会はどのような特徴がありますか。
トーストマスターズの例会は、決まった役割があるのも大きな特徴です。その一部をご紹介します。
Ah Counter – 「えー」「あのー」など不要な発音や言葉をカウントします。
Timer – スピーチや論評などの時間を計測し、制限時間の合図をします。
Table Topics Master – 即興スピーチのテーマを事前に準備し、例会をファシリテートします。
Vote Counter – Best Speaker 等を決める際の、投票用紙の集計を行います。
Evaluator – スピーチの論評を行います。
緊張して人前でうまく話せません。
始めは皆さん同じような悩みを持っていますが、回を重ねるごとに話ができるようになります。

トーストマスターズクラブでは、PATHWAYSというスピーチ上達のための学習プログラムが準備されています。10のカテゴリがあり、そこから自分に合ったカテゴリを選択、スピーチを進めていきます。 https://www.toastmasters.org/pathways-overview
英語があまり話せませんが、参加できますか。
大丈夫です。当クラブメンバーの中には、以前より確実に英語が話せるようになっている方がたくさんいます。
